The Revolution Will Not Be Televised -
English taxpayers picnic at Anthony Steen's
America's Joe (The Revolution Will Not Be Televised) Trippi and Jim (The Second Superpower Rears its Beautiful Head) Moore would love what's going on here in England right now.
A revolution is underway and it's very English. Quiet, humourous and powerful. Blogs instead of pitchforks. No need to take to the streets. The late great John Lennon and Mahatma Gandhi would be proud.
The fun and games have started with a brilliant YouTube posted by dontpanicmedia 02 June 2009 (1,344 views so far) with the following caption:
Anthony Steen is the Tory MP for Totnes [Devon, England, UK] who spent nearly £90,000 of taxpayers money on his vast grounds and then said (very perceptively) on BBC Radio 4 that we were all just jealous of him because his house is so bloody massive. Do you know what its about? said Steen, Jealousy. I have got a very, very large house. Some people say it looks like Balmoral. Yes thats right Anthony we are absolutely green. In fact were so jealous that we feel we have a right to come over and have a picnic on your lawn and take our clothes off if we want.Note, Totnes is the second oldest borough in England.

Guido Fawkes' blog is a daily must-read. There's nothing else like it in the world, it beats mainstream media with up to the minute political news, rumours and gossip. The site is managed and authored by Paul Staines who, according to Wikipedia, is a British-born Irish political blogger and right-wing libertarian. After last week's European Parliament election Guido revealed that his vote went to Libertas. See www.libertas.eu/uk/.

Our Dear (Unelected) Leader Gordon Brown may be a fan of The Beatles since Bono once compared Blair & Brown to Lennon & McCartney. Here is, I think, Comrade Brown's favourite track:
